Resident Services
The Resident Service Department appointed a new Director who is a Licensed Social Worker. Additionally, we have a new intern currently pursuing her Master’s degree in social work. The WHA is committed to growing this department to bring excellent services and resources to our residents.
Programming at 100 Warren Street Munger Apartments is well underway in collaboration with Mass Housing’s TAP program which provides training to staff and engaging events for our residents. WHA hosted The Cure for the Common Show, Art and Relaxation, “Got Conflict?” Seminar, and Make Your Own Pillow session.
The goal of the Resident Service Department is to connect residents to resources, provide therapeutic support, and help families with obtaining rental assistance during this turbulent time.
In 2022, the WHA has received over $44,500 in rental assistance to preserve the tenancies of Watertown’s most vulnerable population. WHA will continue to host Financial Literacy workshops, hosted by Cambridge Savings Bank, at the new Lexington Gardens Learning Center. Upcoming programing at the LC includes Mass Housing’s TAP programming, and the Wayside Afterschool program every Tuesday throughout the school year.
